About APIMHEC 2019
Action for Wellness: The Power of Legislation

The purpose of the annual Asian & Pacific Islander Mental Health Empowerment Conference (APIMHEC) is to increase awareness of mental health concerns and to promote improvement of mental health services for Asian & Pacific Islander (API) communities.

The 2019 APIMHEC Conference will be hosted by Fresno County's Department of Behavioral Health at Clovis Veteran's Memorial District. This conference will convene mental health service providers, consumers, family members, students, researchers, and advocates from within Fresno County and across California.

Our goal is to provide an inclusive professional and cultural learning opportunity to attendees. Together, we hope to build a knowledge base of programming and strategies to improve the quality of mental health care and reduce mental health disparities for API communities.

The annual California APIMHEC was founded in 2018 in Orange County by Viet-C.A.R.E.,
in partnership with private, public, governmental agencies and community members.
Viet-C.A.R.E. is a grassroots non-profit with the mission to improve the lives of those
suffering from mental illness, caregivers, and service providers.
